Fish in the Net

New Entries

Long series are a characteristic of Tanzania Philately..this aspect sometimes "scares" some of the collectors, because it's always difficult to end a set..the difficulty in getting stamps in a regular bases is other aspect to consider.. we sometimes find a small group of stamps, from many different sets, but when we proceed to the classification , we see that it will be almost impossible to end some of these sets...
For this post, I have chosen stamps from small series...
In this case we have a set 2+MS( one of the smallest sets I encountered..) 1990 "Solidarity Walk,1990"
Perf: 13.5
SG(759)

from the set 4+MS 1991 "International Literacy Year (2nd Issue)"
Perf: 14
SG(905) Sc(684)

from the set 4+MS 1987 "Traditional Hair Styles" ... in this case I already had 2 of the 4 stamps
Perf: 14.5
SG(512) Sc(346)

from set 4+MS 1987 "Traditional Handicrafts"
Perf: 12.5 x 12
SG(535,536) Sc(377,378)

I don't know the evolution of Tanzania Philately , after 2000, but one of the things I like in it it's fact that there are no photos in their stamps... all is designed and in this particular case we get beautiful stamps..
from the set 4+MS 1990 "25th Anniv of Union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar"

Perf: 12.5 x 12
SG(739,740) Sc(589A,590A)

from the set 4 1991 "20th Anniv of the Tanzania Investment Bank"
Perf: 14
SG(931) Sc(702)

from the set 4+MS 1989 "Centenary of Inter-Parliamentary Union"
Perf: 12.5 x 12
SG(707) Sc(536)

from the set 4+MS 1988 " 25th Anniv of Dar-es-Salaam Lions Club"
Perf: 14.5
SG(614) Sc(459)

these two stamps are from a set 4+MS 1988 "Traditional Musical Instruments"
Perf: 14
SG(660,661) Sc(441,442)

set 4+MS 1988 "125th Anniv of International Red Cross and Red Crescent"
Perf: 12.5 x 12
SG(619) Sc(464)
